As a photographer, I frequent deviantART, as well as The Photo Forum, two sites I highly recommend. Photograpy started for me as an innocent hobby, and has developed into somewhat of an obsession. My equipment bag currently holds a Nikon D70, FE2, and 2020, with a 50mm F/1.8, 18-70g ED, 75-300 AF, 28mm F/3.5 AI-s and Lensbaby 2.0 Lens, as well as an assortment of fiters and films. My photographic honors include many features on deviantART groups such as Minimalism, D70ers and more. I also won a monthly photo contest on The Photo Forum. Enough about photography.
My 'day job', so to speak, is Music. I am currently a 4th year student at the Peabody Conservatory of Music in Baltimore, MD. My majors are clarinet performance, as you may have cleverly deduced from my deviantART page, and Recording Arts. Music has been a passion of mine for over half of my life now, as I started playing the clarinet at the age of 10, and the piano at age 6. I have performed with the Virtuosi youth orchestra in Houston, the Texas all State Band, Peabody Wind Ensemble, Peabody Symphony Orchestra, and Peabody Camerata. I am very active in new music, and welcome opportunities to perform. (To extend performance opportunities, please email me at music@jwdphotography.com) I believe my love of music and love of photography complement each other well in this multimedia world. Recently, I was hired by National Public Radio to do summer relief engineering in their studios.
Want to hear more? I guess you think I'm more interesting than I will admit. Thank you for visiting my page, it means a lot to me!
