...about

My name is Joe W Dombrowski, and I have been actively pursuing photography since January of 2005. I am a 24 year old native of Houston, Texas currently living in Baltimore, MD.

As a photographer, I frequent The Photo Forum, a site I highly recommend. Photograpy started for me as an innocent hobby, and has developed into somewhat of an obsession. My equipment bag currently holds a Nikon D300, D70, FE2, and 2020, with a 50mm F/1.8, 18-70g ED, 75-300 AF, 28mm F/3.5 AI-s, Lensbaby 2.0, and a Tokina fisheye Lens, as well as an assortment of fiters and films. My photographic honors include many features on deviantART groups such as Minimalism, D70ers and more. I also won a monthly photo contest on The Photo Forum, but enough about photography.

My 'day job', so to speak, is Sound. As a graduate of the Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University, I hold two degrees. The first is in clarinet performance, and the second is in Recording Arts and Sciences. I also took minor lessons in composition with local composer Judah Adashi. Music has been a passion of mine for over half of my life now, as I started playing the clarinet at the age of 10, and the piano at age 6. I have performed with the Virtuosi youth orchestra in Houston, the Texas all State Band, Peabody Wind Ensemble, Peabody Symphony Orchestra, and Peabody Camerata. I am very active in new music, and welcome opportunities to perform. (To extend performance opportunities, please email me at music@jwdphotography.com) I believe my love of music and love of photography complement each other well in this multimedia world. My work experience includes the five years I spent working in Peabody's studios, an internship at National Public Radio in Washington, DC, a year as an audio designer for Big Huge Games, a video game developer in Timonium, MD, and a year as an A/V engineer at Design and Integration, a local A/V sub-contractor.

Thank you for visiting my page, it means a lot to me!
